Kiro
Amazon
Kiro is an IDE from Amazon that starts from a spec and a task list, then uses an agent to implement them. It is newer than Copilot or Cursor. Access has been in preview. Confirm price and availability on kiro.dev.
6.8
Preliminary
Editorial score out of 10. Not a benchmark.
What we tried
Opened a sample and looked at the spec-then-tasks flow. The interesting part is the written plan, not raw completion speed. We did not publish a task score.
Scores are preliminary editorial notes from a short hands-on pass. They are not benchmark results, not pass rates, and not for sale. A shared task suite is not published yet, so we do not print speed, cost, or success-rate figures.
Preliminary notes
- Setup7/10
- Editing6/10
- Agent work7/10
- Docs and control6/10
Good fit
- People who want a spec written down before code changes
- AWS-adjacent teams watching Amazon's IDE
Limits
- Preview terms can change
- A heavier process for a one-line tweak
